How does RestoCheck work?

From NVWA inspection to restaurant detail page — in 4 simple steps.

1

Data from the NVWA

The Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) carries out inspections at restaurants throughout the Netherlands. The results — ranging from 'compliant' to 'improvement required' and 'non-compliant' — are public and accessible under the Open Government Act.

2

We collect and update

RestoCheck automatically imports the NVWA data and keeps it up to date. We supplement it with additional information such as halal status, dietary options and contact details — where possible verified by the restaurant itself.

3

Search and filter

On RestoCheck you can easily search by city, restaurant name or cuisine. Filter by inspection result, halal status or dietary requirements. Or browse the map to discover restaurants near you.

4

Transparent and ad-free

RestoCheck shows no advertisements, tracks no users and sells no data. The platform is funded by voluntary contributions. We are not affiliated with the NVWA or any other government body.
