We make food safety transparent

RestoCheck is an independent, ad-free platform that makes the official NVWA inspection results of more than 30,000 restaurants in the Netherlands accessible. We are not a government body — we make public government data transparent and searchable for everyone.

The data we show comes from the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) and is public under the Open Government Act (Woo). RestoCheck adds a layer of accessibility.

The NVWA publishes inspection results on their own website, but it is hard to search and offers few filter options. RestoCheck adds value: search by city, filter by rating, halal information, dietary options, and a clear map of the entire Netherlands.

We believe consumers have the right to clear, accessible information about the food safety of places where they eat. That information is public — we make it reachable.

RestoCheck shows no advertisements and sells no data. The platform is made possible by voluntary contributions from users who find the platform valuable.

We are not affiliated with the NVWA, the government, or any restaurant chain or industry association. Our only priority is making public information accessible.

RestoCheck is built and maintained by an independent developer based in the Netherlands. The platform was created out of a desire to make public food safety data — which the NVWA publishes but makes hard to search — accessible to everyone.

The platform has no commercial ties to restaurants, food industry organisations or the government. All NVWA inspection data is sourced directly from the NVWA and published under the Open Government Act (Woo).
